Is there a specific reason for this design choice in ATLAS?
That there isn't a way to upload a file into atlas, so using the clipboard gives you the flexibility of moving from one tab to another by just copy paste...or if you want it to go into a file, paste it there, or if you want to paste it into a form post, paste it there.
If we just exported into a file by default, than to do any of those things would have been export->file open->select all -> copy -> paste.
Expected behavior
If i like to export a cohort definition or concept set i like to be able to save them as a file
Actual behavior
I can only copy to clipboard and then have to make a file manually
