Welcome to the SimulationEverywhere wiki!
SimulationEverywhere is composed by a team of contributors working in open source Simulation initiatives. We build different Simulation Engines, Model repositories, Visualization Tools, libraries and frameworks. The engines are based on a formal modeling and simulation methodology, and we have included real time execution of the models, virtual simulation of the same models, integration with embedded systems, distributed simulation, simulation in the Cloud (and now Edge and Fog computing), Simulation Driven Development, etc.
The tools we developed are used by researchers all over the world, to conduct simulation studies and to teach in University undergraduate and graduate courses (most of the user base you will find here is composed by students at Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, Canada, and the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina).
Since the inception of CD++ simulator in 1998, we run a long way leading to the publication of many research papers, you can check many of them here: http://cell-devs.sce.carleton.ca/publications/
Currently our development is centerred on the Cadmium Simulator, a Modern C++ (c++17) highly efficient simulator mostly based in Template Meta Programming.
We are applying to join GSOC this year: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/
Accepted organizations are going to be announced February 20th, 2020. However, it is not early to start thinking in proposals. We recommend students to make proposals based in the Boost Libraries template: https://github.com/boostorg/boost/wiki/Google-Summer-of-Code%3A-Submission-Template
We defined a few example of possible projects we looking forward to mentor this year, but we will work on getting any proposal related to any of our project to be considered
