Sustainability Plan

As one of the goals of the Declarative Form Description Pipeline is to provide tools to create and use such declarative form descriptions, it is important that these tools are being properly maintained, both short-term and long-term.

Short-term

Using the GitHub issues and pull requests for the FormGenerator, FormRenderer, and FormCli, the short-term implementation and maintenance issues are tracked. This makes the development of the DFDP available for anyone to follow and collaborate.

Long-term

IDLab (a team of more than 400 researchers) guarantees maintenance of this project for 4 years after initiation. IDLab is dedicated to providing high-quality research output, and ensuring their sustainability. The DFDP tools are licensed under the liberal MIT license. This means that anyone who is willing to, is allowed to maintain its own fork of the software, which voids any legal barriers towards long-term maintenance.

The FormGenerator and FormRenderer tools are hosted on GitHub Pages to guarantee uninterrupted availability for users in the long-term.
