Car for sale

“Sadly, due to a combination of work and health issues, I am no longer able to run my Mayflower and need to find a buyer.

My Mayflower is a 1953 with an excellent amount of history including the original sales invoice and log book, many tax discs, and assorted literature.

I have a number of spares including 2 windscreens, gearbox, starter motor, and headlamps. During my ownership, I have taken the car on many long runs including Cromer, Rutland, Wetherby, and North Yorkshire, and won the Long Distance Trophy at the Ripon meeting in 2016.

The car is in reasonable condition but the roof lining has come loose and needs re-fitting, but is otherwise good. I have fitted a stainless steel exhaust and electronic ignition, and it runs very well. With a little bit of fettling the car would be an excellent example for someone to use regularly.

I am looking for a sum of around £2,500 but would be open to offers from a club member.

I am in Tonbridge, North West Kent.”

Triumph Mayflower — First Registered 12th July 1952

“Black with red interior. The car is running and is in fairly good order. It has a set of reasonable tyres and comes with a workshop manual, owner’s manual, and many related documents. There are a couple of boxes of spare parts and a set of new hub caps used for shows.

The car seems largely rust free, apart from superficial rust and damaged paintwork, despite being stored for 4 decades.
