Thank you for the reproducible setup. I tested it by now and it works like a charm (I entered nix-shell, and I also ran nix-build and got the jars.
It would be good, if the nix setup would also be documented in the README and how to use it. Could you add that?

At the start of my journey, it didn't work. And after a lot of experimentation it started to work eventually. However, I'm not sure whether the noted instructions were actually the solution.
Hence, I wrote this Nix setup to make it reproducible for the future.
