AV4EV Sim Update

• Safert21 will be hosted at CMU's M19 research center on Nov 14th, 2024. The Autoware CoE team at UPenn is planning to bring the Eve Autonomy Cart to CMU for a real-life Autoware and simulation demo(using a digital twin environment)
• We are working on integrating the Eve Autonomy Cart vehicle into our AV4EV simulator and building a digital twin environment for the M19 research center at CMU
• This environment can also be used to test the gokart and 1/5 off-road vehicle(Autoware training vehicle) in the simulator
• Finished modeling the Eve Autonomy Cart. We manually modeled the cart using the cart's vehicle parameters(dimension, wheel size, wheelbase, etc) and a few reference photos
  
  
• The cart has the following sensors
  -- Lidar
  -- Fixposition Vision-RTK2 GNSS (we added ourselves)
  -- Radar
  -- Camera
• Still working on modeling the M19 environment. It is more challenging to model compared to UPenn's Pennovation environment as it has a complicated building structure, landscaping, and the whole environment is not on a flat surface
• We imported a low-resolution model of the environment from Google map as a reference and tried to build a terrain that matches the real-life elevation
  
  
  
  
• For the 1/5th off-road racetrack environment, we are implementing air duct(similar to F1tenth) as the track boundary
