gr-satellites official documentation is hosted here. This page includes other resources that can be useful as tutorials or additional documentation.

Videos

  • A short video about how to use GQRX and gr-satellites to decode MIR-SAT1. This is applicable to any satellite supported by the gr_satellites command line tool, and is probably the easiest way for newcomers to see how gr-satellites can be used.

  • gr-satellites workshop for the BeliefSat-1 student team of K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (India). This is a long video that shows how to use gr_satellites command line tool, the Satellite decoder and component blocks in GNU Radio companion, and some topics regarding how to add support for a new satellite. It might be good as an more in-depth presentation for experienced users.

  • GRCon20 workshop: Decoding interplanetary spacecraft. This is partially off-topic. It shows how to analyse in detail deep space probe signals in GNU Radio companion and build decoders for them. Some blocks from gr-satellites are used.

  • These two short videos by Richard: gr-satellites bringup and gr-satellites and ZMQ. They are now somewhat outdated, since they use gr-satellites v2, where each satellite had a specific GNU Radio companion flowgraph. Still, most of the techniques shown in these videos can be applied in the current versions of gr-satellites.
