Relates to #2996

The ece-ref shared attribute is currently set to the current URL, which is problematic if we have to revert the "current" version or link to topics that don't exist in current yet.

Since we need to move away from the book-scoped ece-version variables anyway, this PR adds ECE version files similarly to the Stack version files. Unlike those stack versions, however, the branch names in ECE do not match the version numbers so it is a little trickier to resolve the file names.

I've used a ece-link-version in the shared ece-ref variable rather than the actual ece-version since I don't want to potentially break things in the old releases. This way all but the latest releases can still link to "current".

A documentation preview will be available soon.

Request a new doc build by commenting
  • Rebuild this PR: run docs-build
  • Rebuild this PR and all Elastic docs: run docs-build rebuild

run docs-build is much faster than run docs-build rebuild. A rebuild should only be needed in rare situations.

If your PR continues to fail for an unknown reason, the doc build pipeline may be broken. Elastic employees can check the pipeline status here.
