Networking

Every field device connects through either the Network Switch, or the Field Wifi Network. This page outlines the way they all connect, and a reference list of mdns addresses.

Connecting the hardware

The current hardware setup looks like this:

Plug port 1 of the Open-Mesh AP into port 1 of the network switch. Plug the Field computer into port 2 of the Open-Mesh AP. All alliance stations plug in to the remaining ports on the network switch.

Setting up the Open-Mesh AP

The Open-Mesh AP that we use is the same one used on the robots. To set it up, use the Open-Mesh firmware utility to install OpenWRT on it.
