India has been hit with the worst COVID-19 outbreak at the end of this decade. People are in dire need for basic life saving supplies like Oxygen cylinders, Hospital Beds, Plasma donors etc.
This project is an initiative to help people get access to people who can provide these basic medical resource which can be the difference between life and death in these tough times.
A lot of people are sharing these contacts via social media (Twitter handles, Facebook Pages, Instagram) and notably via Whatpsapp messages/status.
This project hopes to consolidate this information in a centralized database and to make it easier to find relevant information by asking the community to help share and curate these contacts.
The following are the notable features provide by this project:
- List of contacts for a given state/city
- Ability to add new contacts
- Search contacts by relevant category (beds, oxygen, plasma etc)
Our hope is to get as much data as we can from the community. If you're a developer, you can help contribute by adding new features or fixing buges or even testing the application (see developer section below)
If you're less tech savy, you can still help out by curating some of the contacts and helping us remove spam from our listings.(see contact section below)
The following is the tech stack for the application:
- NodeJS
- ExpressJS
- Atlas2 MongoDB (cloud cluster database) with Mongoose ORM
To setup the codebase locally, follow these steps:
- Download nodejs/npm (https://nodejs.org/en/download/)
- Clone the codebase
- Run
npm installto install te dependencies - Run
npm run watchto run the application http://localhost:3000to verify if your server is up and running.
