A repo to contain the OpenScad code for Willcox & Gibbs chain stitch sewing machine Thingiverse to get the STLs: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5639753 The Thingiverse may be behind this repo.
- drive wheel adapter: fits around the drive wheel and moves the belt channel from the machine side to the outside. Part presses into place with a snap and is friction fit. Fit may be improved by placing small dots of caulk on the insides of the flanges and a small bead of caulk around where the flanges meet the back.
- gantry: holds the axle for the hand wheel in position above the drive wheel
- hand wheel: hand wheel
- hand crank: hand crank
- spool holder: replaces the spool holder
- spool holder pin: holds the spool holder in place
- base clips: replaces the central bolt underneath with as many clips that go around the edge as you want
- M8 machine bolt (1.25 inches long), 2-3 washers, and nut
- (size) by (size) bolt for crank handle
- skateboard bearing
- drive belt (I cut one to size from a Singer leather belt)
- at least 4 x #8 wood screws (1/2 or 3/4 inch long) + as many as you need for the base clips
- plank or board to put it on
- You will need the BOLSI2 library
- You will also need my ShapesNPaths library to render this code
- raw points: contains the handcrafted points from which to derive the gantry
- modeled points: contains the modeled points for the gantry
- fitscript: contains the python script that models the points to create a smooth curve
- improve fit of drive wheel adapter
- add constants file
- finish hand wheel code
- american geared hand crank version
