: Consider enhancing observability for healthcheck requests.To improve monitoring and debugging capabilities, consider:
- Adding specific metrics for HEAD requests via
ServerMetricsCollector
- Including debug logging to track the request method in healthcheck responses
String requestMethod = httpExchange.getRequestMethod(); +logger.debug("Healthcheck request method: {}", requestMethod); +ServerMetricsCollector.getInstance().logHealthcheckRequest(requestMethod); if ("HEAD".equalsIgnoreCase(requestMethod)) {

: LGTM! The implementation correctly handles HEAD requests.The changes properly implement HEAD request handling by:
- Not sending a response body for HEAD requests (using -1 content length)
- Maintaining the existing behavior for other request methods
This fix aligns with the HTTP specification and resolves the 'stream closed' errors mentioned in issue #11174.

: Verify case-insensitive method comparison with various HTTP clients.The
equalsIgnoreCase
comparison is correct, but please verify the behavior with different HTTP clients (e.g., curl, wget, monitoring tools) to ensure consistent handling of method names like "HEAD", "head", or "Head".✅ Verification successful
Case-insensitive HTTP method comparison is correctly implemented
The use of
equalsIgnoreCase()
for HTTP method comparison, while more lenient than required by the HTTP specification (which defines methods as case-sensitive), provides additional robustness without any downsides. This is a common practice in HTTP server implementations.🏁 Scripts executed

Fixes #11174.
We now check if the request is a HEAD request, and ensure no content-length is passed with the request.
Fixes an internal HTTP 500 (even if the server does return a 200 when headers are sent).
Fixed error:
