Error when trying to update cores retroarch linux, after several methods to try to resolve it and the possible solution I got was removing the "null" line. Please review the code.

That is a weird fix, it may be related to some compiler stuff. What was your compilation environment?

Architecture: x86_64
RetroArch version: 1.19

I have built RA with GCC8 on an Ubuntu 18.04 docker container, but could not see any problem with the core updates. What was the original problem symptom?
