chore(#621): update webpack to v5 (#625)

* upgrade `webpack` and `terser-webpack-plugin`

* use `xxhash64` hash function (see #540 (review))

* replace the deprecated `webpack.IgnorePlugin` constructor API with the new one

* warning is now an object instead of a string

* I can't believe it took me 2 days to figure this out 🤦‍♂️

* simplify webpack config
