I was experimenting with different polygonal shapes that could be used in the health bar and was encouraged to open a pull request.

Not only is the design concept not final or polished, but its implementation is hardly short of hideous and deserves to be vehemently renounced. Putting triangles of abstract sizes around rectangles does not result in tidy Cubescript code. At first glance, it might be best to add parallelogram-drawing capabilities to the UX renderer if these new design was to be added to the main game.

this idea will be worse than the existing rectangles until the ui can 
draw parallelograms
