Release model

I've thought about it for a bit and decided we should adopt the release model proposed by Driessen: http://nvie.com/archives/323. Please refer to the file developer_information/Git-branching-model.

You will see master, which will not receive any checkins directly and a newly created 'develop' branch that will contain development, generally, for the next release.
