GitHub Action: GitHub Release Action
There are plenty of existing GitHub Actions that handles publish of releases on GitHub. This is yet another.
Use this Action if you have the following workflow:
- All commits to main should build and update a single draft release.
- When the draft is ready for release, it can be published as prerelease/release manually. It will no longer be updateable.
- On next commit, another draft release will be created.
Here is an example on how to use this Action:
- name: Release
uses: sondreb/action-release@main
with:
token: ${{ secrets.GITHUB_TOKEN }}
files: "action.js;README.md"
folder: "${{github.workspace}}/package/"
draft: true
prerelease: true
body: 'This is a pre-release'
name: "Draft Release"
tag: v0.0.1
The "prerelease" parameter is not used to allow you to update a published prerelease, but simply mark it by default with prerelease.
This is built as a quick and dirty proof-of-concept during 🎅🎄 and is likely ridled with bugs and problems. Use at your own discretion.
