Hi.

I've been involved in the open source development community since before it was called the open source development community. In 1992, I took over release of what was known as the "root" diskette for Linux from Linus Torvalds, cobbling together the very basic Unix utilities and an installation script required to get the system up and running.

I got involved with PHP development back when it was known as PHP/FI, and became one of the original members of the PHP Group. In addition to contributing to language development and extensions, I created the bugs database, helped manage the mailing lists, and developed an NNTP server and web interface for the mailing lists.

In 2002, I joined MySQL Ab. I started as the lead web developer and later transitioned to software development where I fixed a lot of server bugs, un-stuck development of Connector/ODBC (neé MyODBC) and implemented Unicode support, and developed a number of the internal and public tools like the bugs database.

Since 2010, I have been developing a PHP/MySQL-based retail point-of-sale and ecommerce system called ScatPOS. It was used at the art supply store that I co-owned. It's currently dormant.
