I am Trent M. Wyatt and I have been programming for over 35 years in hundreds of languages. My research involves Paleontolgy, Programming, and Electrical Engineering!
I am developing "Buffy the Pack Mule"; an intelligent 4-wheeled rugged field robot that will carry my equipment and follow me (heeling 15 feet behind) using stereo vision and recognition. When I have stopped to search an area for fossils for more than 3 minutes Buffy will start inspecting the rocks and earth nearby closely, looking for its own first fossil find!
With funding I hope to improve on the motors/mechanics, computing core, and the training of the models done on a dataset from the several thousand marine fossils we have collected so far in order to someday hear the alert that it has found a fossil completely on its own!
