    recommended configuration. Given that we now strongly recommend Manjaro on

    although you can still build them yourself.
  • Arch Linux: Fixes, support for building packages
  • Engine: Vastly improved unit/integration test coverage, from 8% to 67%

  • MultiFX: New effect: Soft Clipper (that can also expand peaks at shape
    settings > 1.0)
  • MacOS: Improved low latency performance
  • Wave Editor: Do not cache audio files with the project, saves a lot of
    disk space, makes it easier to distribute projects
  • Project audio file cache: Avoid duplicate copies of audio files in
    various corner-cases
  • Windows: Much faster project rendering on most hardware configurations
  • Help menu: Link to the download page to check for updates
  • Deb package: There is now a single Deb package that should work on most
    derivatives such as Debian, Ubuntu, MX Linux, Mint, etc...
  • RPM package: Improved stability, the RPM package should be now compatible

Mac users: If your Mac will not open apps from unverified developers, go to

Apple Logo->System Preferences->Security & Privacy->General->Stargate...Open anyway

Once again, I may consider paying the fee to make this go away in the future.

  • Spinbox controls: Now work like knobs, click and drag up or down instead of
    clicking the spinner buttons

issues you encounter, or just let us know that you want us to provide an
app bundle. If there is enough demand, we will by an Intel and ARM Mac to
build and test on.

  • Logging: Replace the user's home folder with ~ for privacy when

  • Linux, Mac: Move /usr/lib/stargate to /usr/share/stargate to better comply
    with packaging standards
  • Source code releases: Remove git submodules so they can actually compile
  • Fedora 35: Many fixes, thanks JohnTheBard for reporting

Linux Distro Packagers: There were many fixes and changes to how Stargate DAW
is built and packaged, which may affect packaging work that you have already
done. For instructions on how to package, please see this document.

    themselves. See instructions below. Thanks to @rjdbcm for the
    patches to get it compiling on recent OS X.
  • Sequencer header: Fix various actions not removing the event position line
  • Welcome screen: Fix inconsistent use of / and \ in project history on Windows
  • Sequencer: Fix various bugs regarding item selection
  • Engine: Much better logging and assertions
