The addition of dark mode enhances accessibility by providing users with a choice of viewing mode that suits their individual preferences and needs, especially for users with sensitivity to bright light and those who prefer a lower-contrast interface. While dark mode may not be explicitly included in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), its adoption can significantly enhance accessibility by providing users with a choice of viewing mode that suits their individual preferences and need. Dark mode reduces eye strain and discomfort, making it easier to read and navigate the website for extended periods.
