Solution for Leetcode problem no.75 [SORT-COLORS]

Description:

Given an array nums with n objects colored red, white, or blue, sort them in-place so that objects of the same color are adjacent, with the colors in the order red, white, and blue.

We will use the integers 0, 1, and 2 to represent the color red, white, and blue, respectively.

We have to solve this problem without using the library's sort function.

Test Configuration:

Input: nums = [2,0,2,1,1,0]
Expected Output: [0,0,1,1,2,2]

Summary by Sourcery

New Features:

  • Implement a solution for the LeetCode problem 75 'Sort Colors' in Java, which sorts an array of integers representing colors in the order of red, white, and blue without using the library's sort function.

Reviewer's Guide by Sourcery

The solution implements the Dutch National Flag algorithm to sort an array containing three distinct values (0, 1, and 2) representing colors (red, white, and blue) in-place. The implementation uses three pointers (low, mid, high) to partition the array into three sections while iterating through it once.

File-Level Changes

Change Details Files
Implementation of the Dutch National Flag partitioning algorithm
  • Initialize three pointers: low, mid, and high to partition the array
  • Use mid pointer to scan through array while maintaining low and high boundaries
  • Swap elements based on their values: 0s to the left, 2s to the right, and 1s in the middle
  • Implement helper swap method to exchange array elements
