Version Increment based on Game Compatibility

Travis Nickles edited this page Sep 18, 2015 · 27 revisions

Many of the version updates to this program have been a result of the program being updated to be able to play a certain game. I thought it might be a good idea to have a reference for games that became playable during the span of the development of AntiMicro.

Granted, the incorporation of features in later versions of AntiMicro would make games that were playable with previous versions even more playable. Duke Nukem 3D was technically playable well before version 2.4 but the difference in gameplay with that version is such an improvement that using earlier versions would be impractical.

2.19

BioShock Infinite (1999 mode)

2.15

The following game became more playable due to changes in the Enhanced Precision mouse acceleration curve, changes in the extra mouse acceleration routine, and proper interpolation being done in regards to the diagonal range of sticks.

Torchlight 2

2.12

The following game became more playable due to the integration of extra mouse acceleration for axes.

Unreal 2: The Awakening

2.11

The following game became playable due to changes in the Enhanced Precision mouse acceleration curve.

Painkiller: Black Edition

2.10

The following demo became playable with less editing due to the incorporation of the stick modifier button. The actual demo worked with the left stick of an Xbox 360 controller but it could only be used for walking. The stick modifier button was used to add the area were the Shift key would be held down so that the main character would run. No stick directional buttons needed to be assigned for that stick.

DreadOut Demo

2.8

The following games became playable due to the incorporation of a stick delay. These games overreacted when moving the left stick around rapidly when no delay was imposed. Better control is possible by slightly delaying when a direction change occurs.

Oni
Red Eclipse

2.6

The addition of Gradient and Pulse turbo modes allow for racing games to be somewhat playable.

Euro Truck Simulator
FlatOut 2

The inclusion of experimental support for uinput allowed the Linux version of Warsow version 1.51 to be playable again using antimicro for gamepad support. That version of Warsow is not able to detect events generated using XTest even though older versions worked fine with XTest.

Warsow (version 1.51)

2.5

The following game became more playable with the incorporation of diagonal distances. This can be used on the low end of axes to allow walking to be done.

Half-Life 1

2.4

The following games became playable with the incorporation of the Enhanced Precision mouse acceleration curve.

Duke Nukem 3D
Unreal Tournament 3

2.0.1

The following game became playable with the incorporation of key press timers and reference counts for keyboard keys.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

1.2

The following game became playable with the release of a Windows version of antimicro. As far as I know, the game does not work in Wine due to Hack Shield.

Ragnarok Online 2

1.0

The following game became playable due to some optimizations that reduced button lag.

DmC Devil May Cry

The following game became playable due to the incorporation of 8-Way controls for analog sticks and dpads.

NetHack

0.8

The following games became playable due to the incorporation of proper analog stick support with a configurable diagonal range.

Half-Life 2
System Shock 2

0.3

The following game became playable due to the incorporation of set support.

Mass Effect 2

0.1

The following games became playable due to this program coming into existence. QJoyPad was not usable for these games without rebinding the controls in the games. QJoyPad had no support for binding mouse buttons to gamepad triggers.

Open Arena
Warsow
