Blender create scene
This wiki page provides links to step-by-step instructions for setting up your camera in Blender, creating the geometry of objects in your scene, and setting up your object materials in pbrt format. These instructions are tailored for creating a Blender scene for use in iset3d. You can also find a link to video tutorials on general exporter use on the exporter release page.
Optional instructions for editing the location and rotation of the camera in Blender. For use in iset3d, you may find it useful to align the camera to world coordinates.
Optional instructions for creating the geometry of objects in Blender. If you already have a Blender scene, you can skip these instructions, with one exception: we provide recommendations for naming your objects in a manner that makes them easier to work with in iset3d.
Recommended instructions for setting up object materials in pbrt format. You can export a Blender scene to use in iset3d without setting up pbrt materials, but non-pbrt materials will not be exported. You can add/modify materials/textures in iset3d.
ISET3d development is led by Brian Wandell's Vistalab group at Stanford University and supported by contributors from other research institutions and industry.
