Meeting Minutes, 2023-09-29

No objections to approving the minutes as recorded.

  1. Status of proposal on S3 standardization

Greg: Feedback from SDC discussions was that we should not work on certification of S3 in the TWG.

Discussion re. draft scope of work item #4.

  • Limit to just object, or cloud data access protocols in general?
  • Agreement was to leave it broad.

Should we help build/support tools like smbtorture?.

Discussed examples of test tools and clients:

Discussion of SDC slugfest:

  • Can we get sponsorship?
  • In-person component is best.
  • How many slots in SDC agenda?
  • Is it a separate room?
  • How big of a room?
  • What would the format be? What time zone for non-remote participants?
  • What hours of operation?
  • What sort of network connection?
  • Bare room?
  • T-Shirt?

SDC committee needs 3 months minimum, 6 months is better for a commitment to hold a plugfest.

  • Participants can get a discount at SDC.

Target March 1st for holding event at SDC.

Goal to put together a schedule for communication with SDC team and board by Feb.

Need to determine what extent we can work with CSTI on this. Promotion, help with coordination, funding and more.

DS to send Gregory and SW details on the CSTI meetings.
