General notes

Each campaign should introduce the player to 2-3 facs, preferably the ones used by the enemy. Each enemy commander has a signature factory, which should be what they use throughout the campaign. Third party factions can be added for variety with the factories. All factions can use gunships, planes and striders where applicable.

As CAI has no idea how to play sea, there is limited room for ship levels (subs are right out).

Start

  1. Cold Dawn
    Map: ?
    Enemy: Free Machines (Shieldbots)

Run and gun mission for control introduction. The Empire is hunting the Promethean and the veteran commander Ada is tasked with knocking out a Free Machine base.

  1. Shadow Puppets
    Map: ?
    Enemy: Free Machines (Shieldbots)

Introduction to unit roles and base building. Ada has to thwart a counter-attack.

Could possibly recycle current Tutorial 2 for this purpose, although I'd prefer a different map style from Mission 1.

  1. Reawakening
    Map: Asteroid map
    Enemy: Free Machines (Shieldbots)

During the Planetwars, while hunting down The Promethean, Ada's comm suffered severe damage and went into stasis. Several thousand years later, she is finally revived, and must gather resources to rebuild her drop-ship and get off a machine-infested asteroid.

Machines arc

Maps: Metallic maps like Industrial Revolution.

  1. Ambush at Rossum

  2. ?
    (in progress)

  3. Air Chieftain and Tomorrow's Globe (working title)
    Enemy: Promethean (Jumpers, gunships, planes)
    Map: ?

Ada discovers that the Daneel Olivaw, an upgraded Nebula air carrier with a long history of service, is blocking her way. She must defeat the Machines in her way and destroy the Olivaw.

  1. ?
Enemy: Free Machine (Shieldbots, gunships, planes, mechs)
    Map: Victoria Crater?

The Machines have Ada surrounded. She must hold out until she can reactivate a Detriment and crush all opposition.

  1. ?
Enemy: Promethean (Jumpers, gunships, planes, mechs)
    Map: ?

The surviving Machines have fallen back to the artefact which still binds them. Once Ada has broken their resistance, she must decide whether to free, enslave, or destroy them for good.

Ascended arc

Maps: Ice and water maps appropriate for Hovers. FrostBiteV2, Iceland, Altored_Arctic, Arctic Plains.

  1. A Link to the Past

  2. Norse Code
    Enemy: Ascended (Cloakbots)
Map: ? (something with water for hovers)

Moving towards the Central Consciousness, Ada is beset by pro-Valhallan cultists who seek to keep interlopers out of their territory. The only way forward is through them.

  1. The Road to El Dorado
Enemy: Ascended (Cloakbots, Gunships), Mercenaries (Vehicles)
    Map: ?

The cultists continue to get in the way. Using stealth and cunning, Ada must penetrate their defences to cripple them before sweeping them out of her path.

  1. Dust to Dust
Enemy: Ascended (Cloakbots), Valhallans (Hovers, Planes)
    Map: ?

Ada finds the Central Consciousness, but so do the Valhallans. She defeats them and takes control of the planet... only to find that Folkvangr has been ruined for centuries if not millennia. It seems clear that the only real group of Ascended remaining are the Valhallans themselves, who have to be dealt with.

  1. Twilight of the Gods
    Enemy: Valhallans (Hovers, Gunships, Planes)
    Map: ?

Ada finds where the Valhalla's uploads - and the corresponding equipment - is stored. Once she deals with the Valhallans for good, she can use their equipment to upload herself, to leave it, or to destroy it.

Dynasty arc

Mountainous maps are suitable. Should include some chicken missions.

  1. The Primarch
    Enemy: Dynasty (Spiders)
    Map: ?

Run and gun mission. The Bio-Vizier meets with Ada, and invites her to donate some of her genetic material to help restore humanity. If Ada agrees, the Vizier resurrects post-human abominations; if Ada refuses, the Vizier turns hostile. Either way, the Dynasty can't be left to its plots.

Use Sortale's Dynasty mission 1 for this.

  1. Terror from the Deep
    Enemy: Isonade (Amphs)
    Map: ?

Water map. Ada is hounded by the mad Lord Isonade, who seeks to crush all opposition and make himself ruler of the galaxy. As an aside, he also plans to capture Ada and turn her over as a gift to the Bio-Vizier, for use as a test subject. Ada has to decline.

Empire arc

Mostly plains maps. This is the arc with the most no-holds-barred beatdown missions.

  1. Barbarian Frontier
    Enemy: Imperial Vanguard Legion (Vehicles)
    Map: magnetic_Lands_smaller_v1

Introduction to tanks.

Travelling into Imperial territory to investigate the Emperor, Ada runs into an Imperial commander who regards her as an interloper... to be met with the appropriate response.

  1. Rebellion Enemy: Praetorian Guard (Tanks/Planes), Auxiliaries (Spiders)
    Ally: Rebels (Shields)
    Map: Hills_and_Valleys-v08

Introduction to gunships.

Penetrating deeper into Imperial space, Ada encounters the Praetorian Guard under Scipio Astra, who is currently suppressing a rebellion led by a comm named Athenion. The enemy of my enemy...

  1. Show of Force
Enemy: Praetorian Guard (Tanks), Barbarians (Cloakies, Shields, Jumpers, Spiders)
    Map: ?

Master vehicles in this free-for-all.

Athenion tells Ada about the incursions by various barbarian groups into this sector of Imperial space; Sophia suggests recruiting them to fight under her on their way to the Throne world. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the only way to gain their loyalty is to beat the crap out of them in a fight.

  1. Great Migration
    Enemy: IVL (Vehicles/Gunships), Auxiliaries (Shields)
    Allies: Barbarians
    Map: ?

Heavy brawl team game. Ada must breach the Imperial defenses and gain a foothold in the Core Worlds; after this, the throne will be within her reach.

  1. The King is Dead
Enemy: IVL (Vehicles/Planes), Praetorian Guard (Tanks/Gunships), Auxiliaries (Amphs, Jumpers, Cloakies)
    Allies: Barbarians
    Map: Throne

Final level. Ada must battle her way to the Emperor's tomb and open it. Once his true state is revealed, the Empire is hers - she can ascend to the throne herself, forcibly dissolve it, or simply have it destroyed.
