This release fixes a regression that was introduced in Sozi 21.08.01-1627813731.
Compared to the previous releases 21.02, this release introduces the following changes:

  • Touch support in presentations.
  • Keyboard shortcuts "A" (view all) and "=" (restore current frame) when playing a presentation (#495)
  • Updated translations.
  • Package in RPM format
  • Bug fixes (#496, #514, #517, #535)

Under the hood, Sozi 21.08 is built with Gulp instead of Grunt. While most Sozi users are not directly concerned with this change, it is still possible that bugs have been introduced in the process.

This release is distributed only for 64-bit platforms. If you think you need a 32-bit version, please join the discussion #521 on this topic.

Since Sozi 20.05, the editor has undergone a modernization of its internal design. The affected features are related to file management (loading, saving and refreshing).

Compared to Sozi 20.05, this release comes with two new features:

  • Custom stylesheets and scripts can be added to a presentation without manually editing the generated HTML.
  • The export tool (formerly known as Sozi-export) has been migrated into the main presentation editor.

Sozi presentations can be exported to the following document types and formats:

  • Portable Document Format (PDF)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (PPTX)
  • Video (PNG image sequence, MPEG-4, WebM, Ogg Vorbis, Windows Media Video)

Exporting to PDF, PPTX, and PNG sequence should work out of the box. No additional software is required.

Sozi uses FFPMEG to export to other video formats. A copy of FFMPEG is included in the Windows and OS X releases below. Linux users must install FFMPEG using the package manager of their distribution.

Video export has been tested on the following operating systems: Ubuntu 20.04 64-bit, and Windows 10 64-bit. Feedback from users of OS X will be welcome.
