Color options

Controls how the colors are outputted.

Dither

Converts the high-depth color to 24-bit colors using dithering, which improves the smoothness of gradients. The main disadvantage is that it will slightly increase file size.

sRGB

YUV only. Fixes the transfer function to match the gamma curve of sRGB. While this is the correct way, some might be too accustomed to the output from the video players which focuses on speed, not correctness.

None (Debug)

YUV only. Does not perform the YUV to RGB conversion, allowing you to analyze the output directly.

Rec. 601

YUV only. Colorspace mostly used on DVDs which have been transfered from analog sources, i.e. old anime.

Rec. 709 - default

YUV only. Always the correct colorspace for HDTV and blue-ray. Also the default color space for DVDs today, though there is no guaranties. So unless you are sure it is rec. 601, don't change it.
