Section 1 0013
1x Y-Carriage

Section 1 0071
1x Y-Teeth

Section 1 0035
2x 3x16 Torx Screw

  • Mount the Y-Teeth onto the Y-Carriage with the 2 M3x16 screws.

  • Take a good look on the orientation of all parts.

Section 2 0022

Section 1 0041
3x Ziptie

  • Mount the Y-Carriage onto the linear bearings with zipties.

  • Mind the orientation of all parts

  • Cut off the loose ends of the zipties.

  • Check if the Y-Carriage can move smoothly. It should move by gravity if you tilt the Y-Unit.

Section 2 0023

Section 1 0042
1x GT2 Timing Belt 728mm (the short one)

Section 1 0154
1x Belt Tensioner

  • Put the timing belt over the idler bearing.

Section 2 0024

  • Put one end of the timing belt into the Y-Teeth.

Section 2 0025

  • Put the timing belt over the motor pulley.

Section 2 0026

  • Put the belt tensioner on the belt as shown in the picture above.

  • Put the other end of timing belt into the Y-Teeth.

  • The tension should not be too loose nor too tight

    • Too loose: you see the belt moving up and down at the idler when you move the Y-Carriage

    • Too tight: the belt makes sound like a guitar string.

  • In all cases it is better to have the belt a bit too tight than too loose.

  • The belt tensioner should be (almost) straight as shown in the image.

Section 2 0027

  • Put the right hand-flange nut 12,5 centimeters from the backplate

  • Lock it with the M10 nut, which functions as a counternut.

  • The left hand flange-nut will be fixed later.

Section 2 0030

Section 1 0164
4x Rubber Feet

  • Put the rubber feet in the designated slots of the lower corners.
