Style Level

In StyleStar, levels are rated from SL1 to SL15. SL1 through SL9 match with DANCERUSH STARDOM’s Lv1 through Lv9, but Lv10 is split from SL10 to SL15.

Difficulties

There are a maximum of 3 difficulty slots:

  1. Easy
    • SL5 or below.
    • RM, SB, and TS must be HT or under 1 beat long.
    • No CS.
    • Max density of 1 note per beat. (Count two simultaneous steps or hold heads as 1 note.)
    • Max simultaneous press is 1 note on each foot + Down or Jump. Do not place a Step and Skid at the same time.
    • Max quantization is 4ths. 8ths and 12ths are allowed sparingly, but must consider density.
    • The first Step or Hold Head must occur after at least one measure of music.
  2. Normal
    • SL4 through SL10 inclusive.
    • RM, SB, and TS must last no longer than 8 beats.
    • Max density is 2 notes per beat.
    • Max simultaneous press is 1 note on each foot + Down or Jump.
    • Max quantization is 8ths. 12ths and 16ths are allowed sparingly, but must consider the music.
    • The first Step or Hold Head must occur after at least one measure of music.
  3. Hard
    • SL9 or above.
    • All patterns allowed.
    • Unlimited density.
    • Unlimited simultaneous press. (However, the chart must be FCable by bracketing.)
    • Unlimited quantization, but placement must match the music.

Style Level specific guidelines

95% of resizable notes (steps, hold heads, hold waypoints) should be this size:

  • SL 1 ~ 3: max 8, min 6 lanes
  • SL 4 ~ 7: max 7, min 5 lanes
  • SL 8 ~ 12: max 6, min 4 lanes
  • SL 13 ~ 15: max 16, min 3 lanes

However, hold waypoints that do not affect judgment are exempt from this rule.
