Community of Origin

Description

The Community of Origin report includes the geographic location indicating the earliest known source overlapping the report for each client. The report can be used to understand:

• The top originating CoCs for clients across the Country
• The top zip codes of origin for clients
• Migration patterns from an originating location to a current location
• Completeness of Community of Origin data

Universe

The Community of Origin report uses the Live Universe Selection.

Results

1. Totals

The top of the report displays four counts:

• Enrolled - Number of unique clients with an enrollment.
• Enrolled with Community of Origin - Number of unique clients with an enrollment and a Community of Origin.
• Entering - Number of unique clients with a start date during the reporting period.
• Entering with Community of Origin - Number of unique clients entering during the reporting period with a Community of Origin.

2. Across the Country

This section includes a map and table of Percent of Clients by zip code. Percentages of clients are based on the number of clients with a valid Community of Origin data.

• Map - Displays the percent of clients with an Enrollment and Community of Origin by State. The percentage is only displayed for states with clients with a Community of Origin from that State. Three different shapes are displayed to represent different Percent of Clients.
• Table - Displays the Percent of Clients by CoC and State. The percentage is only displayed for clients with a Community of Origin from that CoC and State, even if the percentage is zero.

3. Top 10 Zip Codes

This section includes a map and table of Percent of Clients by Zip Code. Percentages of clients are based on the number of clients with a valid Community of Origin data.

• Map - Displays the percent of clients with an Enrollment and Community of Origin by Zip Code.
• Table - Displays the Percent of Clients by top 10 Zip Codes.

Calculation Notes

• Community of Origin is determined from the earliest location data from the earliest enrollment overlapping the report universe.
• Geographic information comes from:
  • Custom import of data (as built and agreed upon with Green River)
  • Last Permanent Zip Code (retired in 2024 Standards)
