The goal is to get an instance of redmine publicly visible.
- Hosted internally at Red Hat (et3)
- Hosted internally at Red Hat IT
- Hosted externally on heroku
- Hosted externally elsewhere
There is some work common to any hosting solution we chose:
- Reorganization of aeolus into a master project with sub-projects such as conductor, iwhd, etc.
- Test out the idea of turning off features we don’t want/need/use.
- Turn off ldap authentication since that won’t be available in any hosted solution
- integration with aeolusproject.org site.
- rpm packages for redmine, rails, etc
- improve monitoring
- improve/revamp backup strategy
- hook into smtp
- rpms that aren’t ready in IT (redmine and deps, but not rails)
- collaborate on puppet recipes with IT
- work through any issues linking aeolousproject.org (et3) to the rest of IT infra (or just moving aeolusproject.org out as well)
- Figure out ssl/no-ssl (how to do secure login on heroku?)
- work out dns issues
- work out backup strategy
- Identify host
- Build packages for redmine, etc.
- Set up app monitoring
- Set up backup strategy
