Attendees: IB, AM, MM, MT, NM, SJ, JD, VB, SM, AA, FB

New Actions:

  • MM Open a ticket for hanging problem with devel stack on macOS
  • IB Open a ticket to rationalise configuration names
  • MT Open a ticket to investigate SSH/GSISSH authentication default to XSEDE

Current Actions:

  • IB Organise a discussion between Andre, Mark, Ioannis & Matteo on how to properly solve RP #1190 and related issues re: pre-exec
  • MM Create a PR for the new pytest version of the example scripts
  • MT Clarify the exact use-cases for GPU support needed by the Princeton collaboration
  • AM + MT: Plan to fix and test radical-analytics issue RA #31

Active issues:

0.46:

  • Release date planned for 2017-04-28

  • AM summary of current status of devel stack:

    • Better performance, scalability, reduced DB traffic, batching of requests
    • Expect some minor configuration and compatibility issues, due to agent refactoring
    • Termination issues are now pushed back to the client (so expect to see these!)
    • All recommended to move to devel, open tickets for any problems/questions

Any Other Business:

  • @RCT_Rutgers twitter account - all please follow and retweet. Anyone who wants can have access for posting, otherwise send IB any announcements, info, papers, conferences etc.

  • Discussed GPU support. No immediate work needed, wait for Berlin to start using Titan and respond. Proper support for GPUs will come in a later release, not in 0.46

  • MT raised lack of clarity around config naming (e.g. _orte, _ortelib), but some of the default configs use SSH or on of these. Suggested rationalising names to have _ssh, _orte and _ortelib, to force the user to make a choice rather than being subject to whatever default might be set. IB to open a ticket for this

  • MT mentioned that XSEDE access seemed to be using SSH rather than GSISSH - his jobs are asking for a password. Please open a ticket to investigate.
