Project Plan is a simple tool aimed, primarily, at alumni of IDesign or readers of Righting Software. Its purpose is to help automate many of the manually arduous tasks necessary for good project design (including constructing Arrow Diagrams and resolving resource dependencies), thus reducing the risk of errors.
The tool is available as both a desktop application and a command-line application. The desktop application is written in Avalonia UI and runs cross-platform (Windows, Linux and MacOS).
While Project Plan can help to simplify the process of project design, it is not a substitute for learning or understanding the techniques that are involved. Using it without a good understanding of how it works under the covers will only allow you to produce bad project plans more rapidly! However, it can be used as a free and simple desktop alternative to Microsoft Project for basic planning.
To install, download the latest zip file from Releases and extract the contents to a separate folder.
The most recent ProjectPlan.exe can run as a stand-alone executable, but may require dotnet 8.0 (or above) in order to run.
